Ali Landry Free Screensaver. Photos slideshow. Ali Landry (born July 21, 1973) is a model and actress best known as Miss USA 1996. Landry grew up in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, in the southwestern part of the state, and is of Cajun and Choctaw Indian descent. She graduated from Cecilia High School in Breaux Bridge in 1991. She later studied at the University of Louisiana where she was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.A natural beauty, she began modeling and appearing at beauty contests around her home state of Louisiana. She even won Miss Louisiana Teen USA in 1990. School was not enough for this young go-getter and she continued to compete in beauty pageants. In 1996, she became Miss Louisiana and followed this up by winning the Miss USA beauty pageant later that year. She gained her most lasting image in 1998 from a Doritos commercial that aired during the Super Bowl in 1998. She has since appeared in other Dorito's commercials and has affectionately been known as the Doritos Girl even if she is trying to shed that image. In 2000, she hosted the Miss USA Pageant and did such a great job that she was nominated for the 2001 ALMA Award for Outstanding Host of a Variety or Awards Special As for love, she dated Mario Lopez for most of the late 1990s and early 2000s, until their three-week marriage in 2004. They were married on April 24th of that year, but she annulled the marriage on May 12th because she found out that Lopez allegedly cheated on her during his bachelor party. However two years later she married again, this time to film director Alejandro Gomez Monteverde on April 8, 2006 in a ceremony in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
