The software is a comprehensive filing and listing program that enables you to file your household papers, keep track of the value of household contents and schedule maintenance on household installations
It integrates with low-cost scanners so that you can add documents quickly and retrieve them instantly without having to go through your pile of papers. Important documents such as the house deeds can be left with a bank, and you still retain a copy for yourself without fear of loss.
The electronic filing system uses your existing scanner and automatically appends documents to your entry for that item. For example you would have a single entry for electricity bills and each time a new one was received in the post you scan it in.
The listing of your household contents includes details of the supplier and the telephone number. It gives you the value of the item at date of purchase, and then provides a depreciation module which you can set yourself at a percentage per year so that the current value of your total house contents is always known. A secondary value for what it would cost to buy the same item as new can also be added by setting a value for inflation per year. It not only records furniture and electrical/electronic items but also is used for software licences, books and on line subscriptions.
For household installations such as washing machines or central heating boilers the entries include the date of purchase, the last maintenance and when the next service is due. It also provides reminders of when everything you own needs servicing, renewing, or updating. For example car tax, income tax, boiler maintenance, insurance policies.
Where you have collections of items such as antique furniture, coins, wine or stamps an upgrade to the program enables you to set up multiple templates switching between the list of main household items and the various collections. So you could have one template for your wine, another for hobbies etc.
