Google Maps has just been updated according to the latest post on the Official Google Blog. The update brings more detailed maps in several countries, more labels and roads, and a more accurate positioning.
The maps of Croatia, Czech Republic, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Lesotho, Macau, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore and Vatican City all have been updated. The maps are more detailed and precise showing more coverage of National Heritage Areas, better 3D building and more detailed labels as well as more accurate names and locations for major points of interests (airports, universities and public squares).
Google also added better labelled ferry routes in many places, making it possible to use Google Maps to get transit-based directions for ferries.
The local roads on these maps are more accurate and are easily distinguished from highways, with the addition of multilingual names available for a larger proportion of roads.
Google Map's Report a Problem tool is now available in each of these countries, giving users the possibility to add corrections of the maps if needed.
These updates are part of Google's ongoing effort to build comprehensive of every corner of the globe and to give its users the best experience possible as well as up-to-date information about the world around us.
